From the Classroom to the Board Room
Haider Gulfaraz recently joined the Dryden Group as VP of Business Development. His role involves nationwide strategic enterprise account management and overall marketing strategy development. Dryden is one of the leading procurement and cost containment consultants in the marketplace and currently works with over one hundred fortune 500 companies.
Having worked in the global investment management industry for over ten years, Haider was looking to make a career change towards the management consulting space. It is through the Fox EMBA program that he came into contact and developed close connections with the COO of Dryden, who happens to be a member of his cohort. They hit it off and shared many common goals and objectives. After a few meetings, he knew this was the ideal opportunity and, despite several competing offers, chose Dryden. Currently he is halfway into his program, but being a member of the Fox EMBA already has paid off in many ways.
Championing Diversity In and Out of the Classroom
Eleisha Smith is about halfway through her EMBA program and will graduate in May 2017–but she’s not waiting until then to use what she is learning to make a difference at her organization.
Eleisha is currently Product Lead, Vice President at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Recently, she was asked to also take on the role of Diversity Champion. In this role, she’ll be working directly with Temple University to target women and students of color in Temple’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
This role will take her back to Temple’s campus to partner with student-led organizations and other groups on campus to host or co-host diversity events. Ultimately, she’ll be helping to place qualified Temple students in jobs at JPMorgan Chase across all business disciplines and to improve the diversity of JPMorgan Chase’s workforce.
