Joseph Hwang is the director of special situations at Vida Capital and has been with the firm since 2018. He is responsible for deal originations, structuring and capital markets. Joseph has structured over $1 billion in insurance linked transactions across the Vida funds. Prior to joining Vida, Joseph served as the managing director (head) of capital markets for the J.G. Wentworth Company. He was responsible for the securitization program and all capital markets activities. Joseph structured over $10 billion in esoteric assets and consumer receivables throughout his career.  Prior to J.G. Wentworth Company, he served in various leadership and capital markets roles at UnitedHealth Group, American Express and TD Bank. Joseph earned his BA from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business and his MS from Villanova School of Business.
