Dr. Elizabeth Taylor's joined Temple University's School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management in 2017, following her graduation from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Dr. Taylor has a PhD in Kinesiology and Health (sport management concentration) and a master's in Applied Statistics from UTK, a master's in Kinesiology and Health (sport psychology) from Miami University (OH), and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. During her time at Miami, Dr. Taylor served as a graduate assistant volleyball coach. She also a two-sport athlete (volleyball, track and field) at UWSP.
Dr. Taylor's scholarly work centers around the experiences of three stakeholder groups within sport: (a) employees, (b) athletes and (c) sport management students and faculty and specifically examines organizational culture, sense of belonging and holistic development. Her work has been published in top sport management journals including the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review and European Sport Management Quarterly. Additionally, Dr. Taylor's work on sport employees and athletes has been supported by the American Athletic Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, North American Society for Sport Management, Fox School of Business Young Scholars Foundation and Center for Ethics, Diversity and Workplace Culture. Dr. Taylor is passionate about supporting undergraduate and master's students in conducting research, and recently co-launched a course in STHM that allows students to travel to academic conference and compete in case cup competitions and present original research.
Dr. Taylor also serves as Temple University's Faculty Athletics Representative, where she serves as the liaison between Temple University Athletics and the Temple University academic community. In this role, Dr. Taylor supports student-athlete well-being and helps enhance the relationship between Temple's athletic department and faculty.
