The 23rd Annual Innovative Idea Competition Finalist Event took on its first-ever virtual format this November, where the event was live-streamed on YouTube as this year’s twelve finalists competed for part of the $5000 prize package.
The 2020 Grand Prize-winning team was Healthy RFP, submitted by team leader Eric Friedman, a graduate student at the College of Science and Technology. Health RFP is an online platform that matches life science companies with vendors and service providers, a global solution aimed at creating a more seamless experience for commercializing a drug, medical device, or cosmetic.
Other top winners of the night were Undergraduate Track winner Indicative Absorbing Bandaid (IAB) presented by Angeli Sen and submitted along with her team members Vendant Patel, Marko Stankovic, and Michael Kyae Appiagyei, all students at the College of Engineering, as well as Upper Track Winner ArtFlip, presented and submitted by Jona Shreeves-Taylor, current Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship MS student at the Fox School of Business.
Taking home the $1000 Crowd Favorite Award, voted on by live viewers, was Sanitime, submitted by undergraduate students Chloe Gehret and Allison Yu, both students at the College of Science and Technology. Yu is also enrolled at the Tyler School of Art + Architecture. Finally, the Global Innovation Prize, presented by the Temple University Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), was awarded to My Relief Wear, LLC by Mary McElya, graduate student at the College of Theater, Film, & Media Arts.
A full list of winners is below, and details on all finalists and their ideas can be found here. You can still watch the event in its entirety here on the IEI YouTube Channel.
