Marie D. Dukes serves as Chief Global Employment and Data Privacy Counsel for FMC Corporation, an Agricultural Sciences Company operating in 50+ countries and headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, with global responsibilities on all matters involving workplace laws including employment, labor, benefits, compensation, litigation, ethics and compliance, diversity equity and inclusion, in addition to managing the operations of the company’s global data privacy office and compliance function as well as providing legal support on cybersecurity.

Marie is an Executive Sponsor of the FMC Bridge Multicultural Employee Resource/Affinity Group and sub-groups. She is a member of the Board, Executive Committee, and the Vice President of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group (PDLG), a program that enhances recruitment and retention of lawyers of diverse backgrounds in the Greater Philadelphia Region. She is also on the Advisory Council of the National Association of Woman and Minority Owned Law Firms. She is a member of the National Employment Law Council and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Earlier in her career she was the General Counsel and Deputy Commissioner of the NYS Department of Civil Service where she served as part of department’s leadership team and managed its legal department. She also worked in the NYS Governor’s Office of Employee Relations where she was responsible for labor negotiations, collective bargaining, and litigating labor contract grievance disputes and unfair labor practice claims. She was a member of the City of Bridgeport (Connecticut) mayoral cabinet and Director of Labor Relations & Benefits Administration. Marie has also held in-house legal counsel positions, with increasing responsibility, at General Electric Company (Power Systems), Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation (British American Tobacco) and Catalent Pharma Solutions.

Marie earned her B.A. from the State University of New York, attended Brunel University in London, England and received her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University.
