Lydel is described as an innovator, entrepreneur, leader, philanthropist, and a futurist. Working his way up from a nurse assistant, to graduating high school as a Licensed Practical Nurse, to working his way to becoming a Master’s Prepared Registered Nurse. Lydel brings over 18 years of clinical and leadership experience.
From the bedside to the broad room, Lydel has anatural ability to identify gaps and to create solutions. As a board-certified Nurse Executive Advanced (ANCC) & the 1st black male to receive the designation as a Johnson & Johnson Nurse Innovation Fellow, Lydel intends to merge his knowledge of Business Administration and healthcare to accelerate intentional change. Lydel’s most recent work has been to redesign the hospital gown for dignity, fashion, form, and function. Leveraging partnerships & design, Lydel’s work created the first Hospital Gown designed to be colored on- further making the hospital gown a therapeutic part of recovery and expressionism. Armed with intention, Lydel has also earmarked a portion of every gown sale to create certifications in healthcare and technology for socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. Lydel holds an AS & BS in Nursing and a MS in Nursing with a concentration in Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. Lydel can be found serving on various non-profit councils/boards and is the leader of a 501(c)(3) organization for which he serves his community and profession of healthcare.
