Instructions
Apply through the Fox online application portal and submit a $60 application fee.
After fee payment, the admission materials below will be available to upload within the application portal. An application will only be considered for admission once all required materials are received.
Please note all graduate candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and should have the US equivalent of a minimum of overall 3.0 GPA.
Admissions Documents
For timely processing, we encourage you to prepare the following materials prior to submitting your application.
A current résumé or CV detailing your professional experience, regardless of employment status, is required.
Transcripts are required from each academic institution you attended and earned credit for coursework. Additional documentation may be required for non-US academic institutions, such as marksheet and diploma. For such institutions, please review these guidelines from Temple University’s Graduate School.

At least one letter of Recommendation is required. Our Doctoral programs require two letters. Professional references from an immediate supervisor, current or past, are preferred. Academic references are acceptable.
After submission, you enter your reference’s contact information through the application portal. References are then invited to upload their letters of recommendation.
One 500-word essay that addresses the following questions. Essays will be evaluated for content, clarity, and professionalism.
- What past experiences prepared or motivated you to pursue this degree?
- How would you expect to change over the course of the program?
- What personal and professional values and skills do you hope to acquire beyond the academic content?
- How will obtaining this degree help you achieve your career goals?
GMAT/GRE scores may be required based on your program selection. Please see the program-specific details for more information.
Regardless of requirement, if you believe a test score would complement or strengthen your application, please request a test score report to be sent to Temple University (GRE: 2906 / GMAT: 72S3T52). Official scores must be reported from a GMAT or GRE test taken within the last five years. Please consult an admissions advisor with any questions.
A test score of academic English, such as the TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, or Duolingo test, is required if you have not earned a bachelor's or graduate (master's or doctoral) degree from a U.S. institution. Test scores must be reported by the testing service to Temple University within two years of the test date.
Waiver Eligibility
Note that if you earned your undergraduate or graduate degree from a country in which English is a commonly used language, this requirement may be waived. The admissions department automatically reviews for waiver eligibility at application submission with review of your academic history.
Once an application is considered complete with the necessary documents, candidates will be invited to a virtual interview.

A minimum of two years of work experience is required; five or more years of work experience is strongly preferred.
Prerequisites
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is required, with five to seven years of managerial experience.
Essays
- A Supplemental Essay is also required. This essay should describe a leadership decision you have made in your career. What was the outcome of the decision? If you had to make the same decision again today, would you and why/why not? Word count should fall under 250 words.

Successful completion of the following accounting coursework. Prerequisite tax courses should address U.S. tax laws.

Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I, and Intermediate Accounting II course equivalents must address U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

A minimum of three years of healthcare experience or management is highly recommended.

Due to the mathematical nature of many actuarial science courses and their fast pace, the admissions review includes particular attention to your quantitative background.
This background must include multivariable calculus and probability (both discrete and continuous).

Due to the technical nature and fast pace of this degree’s courses, the admissions review includes particular attention to your IT background.
For eligible candidates without sufficient IT experience, the program offers an additional Enterprise Architecture for IT Auditors course. This course introduces IT concepts and provides hands-on skills essential for success in the program. This course brings the program from 30 required credit hours to 33 required credit hours. Due to the mathematical nature of this degree’s courses, the admissions review includes particular attention to your quantitative background. This background includes a working knowledge of calculus, functions, calculating and understanding derivatives and optimization. At a minimum, a familiarity with the mathematics entailed in an intermediate microeconomics college course.
The ability to conduct research, as demonstrated by academic research publications, and whether your indicated research interests match those of our faculty are also taken into consideration.

Letters of Recommendation
This program requires two letters of recommendation that support your candidacy into a doctoral program.
Essays
- Statement of Goals should also address your research area of interest. Word count should fall between 750-1000 words
- A Supplemental Essay is also required. This essay should address other experiences that could enhance your application. Examples include non-profit experience, volunteerism, or overcoming a life obstacle. These may or may not be related to research. (1000 word max suggested)
Academic Paper (optional)
You may also upload an article or paper you would like considered with your application. Excluding such an article or paper will *not* adversely affect your likelihood of admission.
Interview (invite only)
After initial review of your credentials a personal interview may be requested. Telephone interviews are acceptable and will be arranged by the appropriate department coordinator. A visit to campus is the responsibility of the applicant. To arrange for a campus visit, please send an email to your intended concentration advisor.
Prerequisites
A master's degree in a related discipline or an MBA is not required, but preferred.
A minimum of 12 years of management experience, with at least 7 at the executive level.
Essays
- Statement of Goals should also address your research area of interest. Word count should fall between 750-1000 words.
- A Supplemental Essay is also required. This essay should address how you plan to balance the academic demands of the DBA program into your current schedule. Word count should fall under 500 words.
Degree Modality: Part-time and Online delivery
This degree requires substantial online coursework coupled with occasional weekend residencies and is intended as part-time study, complementing a candidate’s current job. As such, it is not eligible for an F-1 sponsorship. Applicants should consult with an admissions representative for further information.
No additional requirements. Does not require any letters of recommendation.
