Biography
Sheri Lambert is a professor of practice in marketing at the Fox School of Business at Temple University. She is a recognized and respected authority on brand management, customer relationship management (CRM), marketing research and digital marketing. She brings a distinctive blend of skills and experiences to serve as an important bridge between the worlds of practice and academia. Prior to academia, Sheri was a distinguished marketing research management executive who worked with Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines and the IHG brands. She began her career on the agency side of the business, as an account executive creating and managing consumer research and insights for blue chip clients. Thus, it is in the real world where she first developed a passion for brands, lived the experiences that enliven and enrich her contributions in the classroom, and encountered the managerial questions that inspire and ground her research. Today, she remains close to practice by serving as a board member, consultant, educator, and advisor to companies and their executives.
She is a passionate and enthusiastic award-winning teacher and a creative and innovative course designer who is currently teaching two courses in Consumer Buyer Behavior, Marketing Strategy and Digital Innovation in Marketing at Fox. She is a popular instructor in Fox School’s Executive Education programs and has led global executives in sessions on marketing and strategy in programs including driving digital strategy, marketing in the digital era and transforming content marketing with Digital Natives. She has also partnered with and developed custom executive education curricula for many organizations. In addition, Sheri is founder of the Fox MSMR Industry Advisory Board (IAB) a partnership among business leaders, faculty and students that generates knowledge about the market research industry through educational programs, global forums and research. In addition, Sheri is Managing Director of the Fox Center for Executive Education and partners with organizations to strengthen their management, executive and board-level leadership teams.
She is a prolific and award-winning author of teaching cases, and technical notes on social entrepreneurship, branding, marketing, and digital marketing, which are known for both their academic rigor and real-world relevance. Her research spans the worlds of academia and practice and has been published in the top academic marketing journals such as, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal for the Advancement of Marketing Education. She reaches a broader audience through case studies that bring her academic work into practice. Her field research and teaching cases include cases on Breastcancer.org, Crayola, Ford Resource & Engagement Center, J.Crew, L’Oréal, Opera Philadelphia and Swoon. Her innovative teaching style was recognized in 2021 with the Andrisani-Frank Undergraduate Teaching Award from the Fox School. The Fox School awarded her with the 2021 case-based research award. And her branding and marketing insights have been cited in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Bloomberg/Business Week, among other publications.
At Fox, she is an empowering and devoted mentor to students and an active ally and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. She is a 2018 award recipient in recognition for her service to the Temple community as faculty advisor to the American Marketing Student Association
Professor Lambert was named one of the Top 50 Undergraduate Business Professors by Poets&Quants in 2021.
She holds a MBA (marketing) from the Stephen M Ross School of Business, the University of Michigan , and a BSIE (industrial engineering) from Purdue University. Prior to joining the Fox Business School faculty, Sheri served as Chief Marketing Officer at Big Sofa Technologies and a member of its Global PLC Board. With her executive management and high-level experience, including years of market research consulting engagements in both consumer and B2B sectors. Sheri has held Senior Leadership positions within some of the world’s largest marketing research consulting firms. Including, Ipsos and Kantar Group. At Ipsos, she was the Global Head and Managing Director of the Travel & Leisure Sector and Global Loyalty Practice. At TNS she served as Managing Director of its North America Transportation, Travel & Hospitality Sector and was President of TNS NFO Plog Research Company.
