Some of the key technology acceleration areas Ed has led the development of, and implementation with his clients include geo-intelligent location-based opportunity insights and documentation to support related benefits and tax depreciation and tax basis balance sheet automations to streamline the recordkeeping associated with these opportunities.

With leveraging PwC’s geo-intelligence, Ed helps his clients efficiently leverage the insights associated with their physical presence to integrate the cross-functional needs and collaboratively solve for optimizing global credits and incentives, carbon taxes and reporting, Pillar 2, climate risk assessments and many other areas with common rooted dependencies in a company’s physical footprint. In connection with these projects, Ed also assists his clients with ASC 740 implications and IRS exam strategy and support. Ed serves on PwC’s national Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) specialty team focused on interpreting guidance, developing technology solutions to optimize benefits and reduce administrative burden and bring the collective PwC insights to his clients.

Ed received his Bachelors in Accounting from Temple University and is licensed as a CPA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

More on Joe Falkenstein

Joe has participated in hundreds of M&A transactions and financings.  He has held numerous Board of Directors seats, including audit committee chairmanships, in the software, healthcare, internet and business services industries. 

Prior to launching Falconrock Associates, Mr. Falkenstein was:

  • COO & CFO at Pet360, a PE-backed consumer digital business focused on the pet industry, which was sold to PetSmart in 2014
  • Founding General Partner of NJTC Ventures, a top 1% performing early-stage venture capital fund
  • Founding General Partner of Egis Capital Partners, a leading private equity fund focused on the security and protection industry
  • Partner at Arthur Andersen focused on growth companies, venture capital and private equity, where he was an early promote to partner and co-managed the New Jersey offices

While at Andersen Joe was awarded Alumni of the Year by the Temple University’s Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.  While at NJTC Ventures, Joe was recognized as a Top 40 under 40 business leader by NJ Biz.

Joe has significant experience working with entrepreneurial executive teams on strategy, talent management, business analytics and operations.  He is an expert in corporate finance and capital formation and is excited to share his experience with Falconrock clients, helping Entrepreneurs realize their value creation and monetization dreams. 

Joe is a life-long resident of the Philadelphia region, a CPA and graduate of Temple University. Joe is married with twin adult children and is a die-hard Eagles fan.
